Ni
hao
hello and welcome to the Bamboo Academy. We hope you enjoy your visit and that you find the site easy to navigate and hope that you enjoy visiting the online galleries of Tutors Priscilla and Robert Braybrook.

'Priscilla
and Robert at a demonstration in the Pierrepont Gallery,
Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire, England.'
They
would like first of all to share their story with you :
So many people ask them "why Chinese painting"? The answer
from Priscilla " I first started to learn Chinese Painting
when I lived in Manila the capital of the Philippines during the
1970's" " I did not paint in the Chinese style again for
many years." Only when I was given one year to live if I was
lucky did I return to the Therapeutic Art form of Chinese Brush
Painting. That was in the Autumn of 1996.
Priscilla and Robert met in 1984 and got married the following year.
Both of them were gravely ill, Robert was battling the effects of
Motor Neurone Disease but was always very positive in his attitude.
Whilst Priscilla was enduring the gruelling effects of Radiation
treatment for a Malignant Blood disorder. She is currently undergoing
Chemotherapy treatment but is quick to point out that the peace
and tranquillity of Chinese painting has helped her to endure the
pain.
The
second question people ask is : " why teach others." Their
reply : " The improved well - being we experience we wish to
share with the wider audience." Priscilla and Robert would
like to thank all friends both in the United Kingdom and around
the World for their encouragement, and their patience. They thank
their Chinese Masters for believing in them and for the support
of the professional Bodies.
Over
the last five years they have become qualified to teach Chinese
Painting both in the Traditional and Contemporary forms. For information
on the work of the Bamboo Academy Reg. Charity 1077381 please visit
the events page. Priscilla and Robert welcome
your comments and will willingly help with any questions relating
to Chinese Arts.
May you feel freedom, tranquillity and mostly peace as you enjoy
your visit. Thank you, Xie Xie, Xie Xie Ni.
